On the 17th of October stakeholders and representatives from the research community met at the National Library of Sweden for an inspirational kick-off to launch the government assignment to coordinate open access to research publications.
Recordings, speaker biographies, and slides from the conference will be published on our Event page daily during the Open Access Week. The presentations are related to the five studies coordinated by the National Library as part of the government assignment.
This event is organised by the National Library of Sweden as a kick-off conference in conjunction with the upstart of the five studies on open access and directed to its members, invited speakers and guests. All presentations will be recorded and published open access after the event.
A core question discussed at the LIBER Annual Conference 2017 in Patras, Greece – Libraries Powering Sustainable Knowledge in the Digital Age – was how libraries can achieve an open and sustainable research and information lifecycle in order to ensure the accessibility, usability and long-term preservation of research outputs. The popular conference attracted more than 300 delegates offering workshops, keynotes, and presentations on a broad spectrum of open science issues, as open access, open research data, text and data mining, copyright, metrics, infrastructural issues, and management.
